The Nutella Churros Cookie: Cinnamon Sugar, Molten Nutella, and a Paddy's Markets Memory

How a churro-stand snack became a stuffed cookie — and how it differs from Chip's other Nutella flavour.

The Nutella Churros Cookie: Cinnamon Sugar, Molten Nutella, and a Paddy's Markets Memory

A churro is cinnamon sugar, fried dough, and something to dunk it in — usually chocolate, sometimes dulce de leche. Nutella Churros takes that exact combination and rebuilds it as a cookie: a cinnamon-spiced dough rolled in cinnamon sugar with a river of molten Nutella® running through the centre, built to taste like a warm churro stand rather than a standard cookie with cinnamon added on top.

What is the Nutella Churros cookie?

Nutella Churros is a cinnamon-spiced cookie dough rolled in cinnamon sugar before baking, stuffed with a molten Nutella® core so every bite gets a hit of chocolate-hazelnut spread against the warm spice. It launched in Episode 3, Out of this World, alongside flavours like Matcha White Chocolate and the original Brownie cookie. It contains wheat, milk, egg, soy and tree nuts (hazelnuts), and Nutella® appears as a genuine collaboration ingredient rather than a flavour approximation.

Where did the idea for a churro cookie come from?

From the churro stands at Paddy's Markets — warm cinnamon dough with a river of molten Nutella running through the centre was the exact memory we were chasing when we built this one. A churro's whole appeal is the contrast between the crunchy, sugar-dusted outside and whatever warm filling you dunk it in. A cookie cannot fry the same way a churro does, but a thick, underbaked dough rolled in cinnamon sugar gets close: a sweet, spiced crust on the outside, and a stuffed molten centre standing in for the dunk.

How is Nutella Churros different from the plain Nutella cookie?

Both centre on Nutella®, but the dough around it is doing a completely different job. The Nutella cookie uses a plain milk-chocolate dough that gets out of the way and lets the chocolate-hazelnut spread lead — a straightforward, deliberately unfussy showcase. Nutella Churros adds a whole second flavour system on top: warm cinnamon spice baked into the dough and rolled through a cinnamon-sugar coating, so the Nutella becomes one part of a churro-inspired flavour rather than the entire point. If you want Nutella on its own, reach for the plain version; if you want cinnamon and Nutella together, Nutella Churros is the one built for that.

💡 Tip:Because it leans sweet and spiced, Nutella Churros works well next to something less sweet in a mixed box — a coffee-forward or spiced flavour keeps the whole box from tipping into dessert-on-dessert.

Is the Nutella Churros cookie available to order right now?

Not as part of the current online drop. Nutella Churros has entered the Chip Archive and is currently exclusive to catering and events orders. It launched in Episode 3, Out of this World (March–April 2026), and has not returned to a regular drop since. With a new six-flavour episode every month, archived flavours do rotate back periodically — check the current episode or follow @chip.bakehouse on Instagram to see what's live now.

Can I order Nutella Churros cookies for an event?

Yes. While it is not part of the regular monthly drop, Nutella Churros remains available through Chip's catering and events orders — a strong pick for a dessert table that wants something warmer and more spiced than a standard chocolate cookie. Get in touch through the events enquiry page to arrange it, or build a box from whatever flavours are live right now.

What is the difference between Nutella Churros and the regular Nutella cookie?

The regular Nutella cookie uses a plain milk-chocolate dough so the Nutella® spread leads on its own. Nutella Churros adds cinnamon spice to the dough and a cinnamon-sugar coating on the outside, so it reads as a churro-inspired flavour with Nutella as one part of it, not the whole point.
